Kene (1982) wanted to be an explorer or an inventor. He drew plans of his ships and built little motorized robots. As he grew older, Kene’s attention shifted towards piano playing, poetry for his girlfriend and designing jewellery for his dear mother.
As he finished college Kene crossed the Canal and headed for London where he studied Film & Media at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communications. Two years later Kene was granted funding for his first short film H2O and soon started (in 2003) directing commercials.
Kene specializes in drama, history, fairytales, science fiction, art direction and fashion. His mind is full of wonderful worlds, which he works out with great attention for detail and originality. His style is poetic, romantic and aesthetic. His visual style is graphical and balances nicely against the baroque content of most of his films.
